Why Natural Hair Loss Shampoos Are Worth Your Time

I created this post on my blog to help you understand how natural hair loss shampoos can really give you some incredible benefits in fighting hair loss. Read this post in it's entirety and by the end you'll understand why you need natural hair loss shampoo in your life:

The leading cause of hair loss a chemical called di-hydrotestosterone (DHT). This chemical is derived from testosterone via a 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. Only recently has DHT come in focus as a way to stop early baldness and developments from drug companies has led to finasteride known as the blockbuster prescription drug Propecia. New technology and extraction techniques and breakthrough research studies have allowed for a new approach to stopping DHT and androgenic alopecia.

DHT shampoos are developed specifically to address alopecia & thinning by naturally blocking DHT. The patent pending combination of natural and botanical extracts have been shown to increase circulation, topical nutrition, and block DHT conversion.

DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is created by the conversion of 5 alpha reductase enzymes from testosterone. Dihydrotestosterone restricts blood flow & nutrition delivery to the hair follicles, which can lead to atrophy and reduced hair density, leading to thinner hair, increased hair shedding, or male pattern baldness.

DHT Shampoos can provide a quantity of specific benefits for those losing their hair or who are experiencing balding or pre-mature loss.

* Blocks & neutralizes testosterone conversion

* Stimulates growth & follicle development

* Regulates over-active sebaceous glands (oils)

* Slows, stops, or reverses balding, thinning, shedding

Temporary alopecia, "Diffuse", results from several factors. While heredity is at the top of the list, stress, medication, & chemical treatments & harsh hair products can slow hair growth & restrict circulation. Poor scalp circulation reduces nutrition levels that promote & maintain healthy growth. Additionally, excessive oil, dirt, & product build-up can clog follicle pores harboring infection, reducing follicle respiration, & accelerating scalp & hair problems - scalp psoriasis, alopecia, & dermatitis.

DHT Shampoos typically include anti-oxidant enriched bioflavanoids for regulating & controlling sebum (scalp oil), DHT. Excessive sebum can trap bacteria leading to shedding, hair fall & alopecia (loss).

Definitely consider what natural DHT shampoos can do for you in your efforts to get rid of thinning hair fast. Thanks for taking the time to read this post on my blog.

Much success & I will talk soon,

Got An Itchy Scalp & Thinning Hair? This Might Help!

The other day, I received similar emails from both a man and a woman who described having an itchy, tingling scalp with hair loss that seemed accelerated and was accompanied by thinning.

Both wanted to know what they could do about their scalp (which hopefully would also help the hair loss.) In truth, there are several reasons that these two things occur side by side or simultaneously.

By far, the most common cause for this condition is an over-reaction to your scalp to the androgens that are on it.

Now, this may be a sudden onset of symptoms because either your hormones are changing, the androgens are increasing, or your sensitivity to the androgens is increasing.

All three of these things generally occur with age. And, these things tie into genetic or androgenic hair loss, meaning your standard run of the mill, patterned baldness or thinning.

Sometimes this is patterned (typically with more loss happening at the temples, crown, or top) or it can be more diffuse (especially in women.)

Treating this depends on how aggressive you want to be and how bad the thinning really is. Some people will only seek relief for the itching. Tea tree oil is good for this as are anti inflammatory shampoos.

If you want to address the thinning, you will need to address the sensitivity at the follicles. However with that said, you will want to try things gradually and you should be very careful about any treatment that can affect or change your hormones, as hormonal vulnerability might just be what caused this.

I often recommend starting with things that are placed on your scalp rather than going internally and taking things into your body.

Sometimes, for whatever reason, your follicles will go through a shedding or a sort of spring cleaning. This can occur, again, because of changing hormones, changing medications, illness, stress, and many other things.

Often, you will get shedding that will sort of run its course, and hopefully end after a few months. In the meantime though, since so many follicles are being shed out at one time, you can get a tight, itchy, or painful scalp while this is happening.

Now, sometimes, the thinning is caused as a result of the shedding, but sometimes miniaturization takes place. What this means is that your hair is growing back thinner and finer as the result of being affected by the androgens that I discussed above.

If your regrowth looks fine though, you're typically over the  hump and can just focus on reducing the inflammation of your scalp.

Dermatological Conditions Of The Scalp: Sometimes your scalp itches because it's having some reaction due to injury, allergic reactions, infections, or products that are injuring it.

This is typically something that your dermatologist can pinpoint with a sun lamp. Sometimes, you will have reactions on other parts of your body other than the scalp. You might see sores or bumps on the scalp too.

Ask yourself if you have changed products or regimens. Thinning with these conditions is somewhat rare, although I have heard of this happening.

Thanks again for listening to me run my mouth. I sure do hope this has given you the power to fight this problem without all of the hassles.

I wish you the best,

What I Think About Procerin

Just about everyone wants to know about the new product for treating baldness called Procerin. Well actually this stuff isn't new because I used it a few years back.

So . . .

What I'm going to do is tell you what I got from it and hopefully you can use my advice as a guide for making your own decision. Yep, I'm going to leave it all up to you to decide.

It all started when I used this product about 5 years ago out of curiosity because I was into using something that was natural. I used Rogaine for a while but all it did was give me a headache and cause tons of other things to happen to me.

So I stumbled upon Procerin because I noticed that it came in a two-part treatment. One part herbal pills and the other a solution. Well I just have to say that the herbal pills that come with it are excellent. Hands down this stuff is what every man, woman and child needs.

It has plenty of herbs such as saw palmetto, ginkgo biloba, ginseng and tons other ones essential for fighting hair loss.

But . . .

Here's what I don't like. The solution contains the exact same one that's in Rogaine . . .

MINOXIDIL! Yikes!

I highly advise you to stay away from this stuff if you want to regrow your hair and do it safely. It just isn't safe. In case you didn't know it, it used to serve as a blood vessel dilator for those with high blood pressure.

They felt like just because it could open up blood vessels it would be suitable for those who need more circulation in the scalp.

So my advice? Stick with the herbal capsules and avoid the solution.

Hope this serves to provide you with a little bit of info that the product packaging want.

Best,

A New Movie & A New Remedy!

Just finished seeing that new movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon with my 14 year old nephew Allen. I promised to take him there and so despite my numerous attempts to ignore his begging calls, we headed to the show. Boy what a great movie that was!

Funny how fast movie tickets sell so quickly. Who would've imagined this movie would be such a hot ticket seller! Well this got me to thinking about how many new hair loss products are released on the market. In a way when you think about it, you can liken them to a new movie release.

You read the reviews, you even read testimonials from people who have given this new product a test run. Some people like it, others hate it. So usually you base your decision to purchase not just on logic, but on what Mr & Mrs. Smith (excuse the pun) has to say about it. And like box office sellers these products go flying off the shelves and sell like crazy.

Well you don't need to have every new hair loss treatment to really make a difference in your hair's growth. Just a simple remedy that you may not have heard about may be enough to get you on the road to a new you. And that's what I want to present to you today.

It's nothing close to being the "biggest hit" in Hollywood, but it may sure turn you into a fan. All you're going to need to make this work is egg yolk. That's it! Hope I didn't burst your bubble. Now here's what you need to do with the egg yolk in order to stimulate hair growth.

BEFORE you wash your hair, take the egg yolk and massage it into your scalp with your fingertips for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Seems like a long time, but you gotta get this stuff deep into your scalp pores.

It actually relaxes you and you'll start to feel the tension ease away. After 45 minutes has passed, shampoo your hair like normal. You only need to do this three times a week to see results in as little as 30 days. This isn't some unique cure that no one has ever heard of before, but you'll be surprised to know that very few people even use it. Give it a try. Till later have a good day.

Best,

My Biggest Problem With Hair Loss Solved

Hello,

Christopher here! Wanted to take the time to give you a little motivation in your efforts to stop your hair loss and get that great head of hair back.

You see I once struggled much like what you're probably going through right now. It wasn't an easy road to get to where I'm at right now. Believe me, I'm your average guy much like you probably are. Nothing special about me.

I love to go fishing, enjoy swimming on weekends too alongside the time that I take to provide you with various tips I've discovered for natural hair growth.

But enough of the rambling . . .

One thing to keep in mind when you're using these natural remedies and various hair-growing methods is that you must not give up. Sure, you may do everything I tell you and even seek out some of your own methods you've researched and progress may go slow.

It might appear like your hair is just sitting there doing nothing. But trust me when I tell you this, your hair IS making changes. Think about how long it took for your hair to fall out. Did it all just start to thin at once? Or was it gradual? Chances are it was gradual, maybe over the span of a month or two or more.

So this means that the longer your hair has been falling out, the longer time it's going to take for it to recover. Just hang in there and you'll start to notice results taking place. It may be just a few "peach fuzz" hairs, or maybe you'll start noticing a slowing down of hairs falling out.

Either way it goes, every little bit counts.

I highly recommend this to help you out here:

=> http://www.hair-loss-secret.com/10minutemethod.html

It's quick, natural and a very easy way to regrow hair in just 10 minutes per day. Just what you need when you've been struggling and want to really make those changes happen fast.

Have a great rest of the day and we'll talk soon,

- Christopher

Biotin Is A Key to Eliminating Hair Loss When Taken Daily

You've probably heard about the vitamin biotin before. It has been heralded lately as a great tool for eliminating hair loss for those who are deficient of it. But many people just do not understand how biotin can allow your hair to grow back.

Here's how it works. Biotin is a B vitamin that works well to benefit new growth of hair as well as healthy skin and nail rejuvenation. Most people don't get enough of this vitamin in their diet which usually leads to significant hair loss down the road.

There are various supplements you can find in your local drug store or pharmacy that can give you a good daily amount of it. But if you want you can also include certain foods into your diet that contain biotin. They are soybeans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and brown rice.

Even egg yolks contain biotin in them. One thing to keep in mind though about biotin is that it binds quite easily to proteins, making it almost totally unavailable in your body. This is what causes you to lack this in your body and experience hair loss.

Definitely stay away from raw eggs, protein powers or those protein bars out there. They will make it very hard for your body to absorb the right amounts of biotin. Even those with type A blood don't have the ability to fully absorb B vitamins.

So while biotin is a great tool for hair loss and regrowing your hair, there are critical things you need to know about it if you are to increase hair growth effectively.

Hair Loss Medications & Their Natural Substitutes

At the moment, there are only two medicinal treatments that have been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the US for treating hair loss - topical minoxidil (trade name Rogaine) and oral finasteride (Propecia).

Topical minoxidil is suitable for both sexes, whereas finasteride can only be prescribed to male patients. Minoxidil is a vasodilator, originally used to treat high blood pressure, which was later found to stimulate hair growth when applied topically to the scalp.

Finasteride is an antiandrogen that was first used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostate enlargement. It acts by inhibiting conversion of the male hormone testosterone to the follicle-harming dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

The discovery of finasteride's positive effects on hair growth led to finding the true cause of hereditary baldness, which is the harmful attacks of DHT on our hair follicles. Since making this discovery, a quest for other alternative DHT blockers has begun, especially amongst antiandrogen drugs and herbs that have, in the past, been used to treat urinary problems.

Dutasteride (trade name Avodart) is an antiandrogen drug similar to finasteride in its chemical structure and mode of action and has been studied extensively for treating hair loss.

It has recently completed phase III clinical testing for efficacy and safety in the treatment of male pattern baldness and the study results are pending. Like finasteride it is also used for treating BPH.

Dutasteride is believed by many to be a more powerful hair loss drug than finasteride but also with more severe side effects.

Flutamide (trade name Eulexin) is a very strong antiandrogen used to treat prostate cancer. It works by binding to the androgen receptors and thus competing with DHT. Oral use of flutamide can cause serious side effects but it is believed that topical applications might have less adverse side effects and could be, in the future, used to treat hereditary hair loss. More research is needed to verify such claims.

Spironolactone (trade name Aldactone) is another antiandrogen that works by binding to androgen receptors, competing with DHT.

It is used in women to treat acne, hair loss and excess body hair and although there are some generic topical applications for the treatment of male pattern baldness which contain spironolactone, it has never been approved to treat hair loss in men and should be avoided.

For women, spironolactone can be considered as a reasonable alternative to the men’s best hair-loss pill, finasteride, which cannot be used in women.

As has been mentioned earlier, following the discovery of DHT attacks on hair follicles being the true cause of hereditary baldness, herbalists started looking for possible natural alternatives to finasteride among plants that have been traditionally used to treat urinary problems and, more specifically, enlarged prostates.

Saw palmetto has been used for decades to treat prostate enlargement and it is one of the few plants used in natural remedies that have been subjected to some sort of scientific research in regards to their potential for treating BPH.

Its supporters assume that it works by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone into prostate and follicle-harming DHT but no study has yet confirmed this assumption.

No clinical research has ever been conducted on saw palmetto's effects on hair loss. Despite that, saw palmetto is widely used by thousands of hair loss sufferers around the world as a safe natural alternative to finasteride.

Extract from the bark of the evergreen tree pygeum africanum is another popular herbal ingredient found in natural hair-loss treatments and many herbalists believe it is more potent in treating hair loss than saw palmetto.

Its rise to fame also comes from the general assumption that this plant, thought to be beneficial for treating prostate enlargement, must be also effective in treating hair loss. Pygeum africanum has been less well studied than saw palmetto and it has never been used in any clinical hair-loss study.

The third most popular herbal ingredient used in natural hair-loss cures is nettle root extract. This herbal drug is derived from the root of the stinging nettle, a popular healing plant found in temperate and subtropical zones of the northern hemisphere.

Its use in natural hair-loss remedies also stems from the fact that it is supposed to help shrink enlarged prostates and is thus believed to inhibit the conversion of testosterone to DHT. Like the two aforementioned herbal extracts, nettle has never been used in any clinical hair-loss study.

This list of hair-loss drugs and herbal extracts that are believed to mimic the actions of finasteride, the only approved pill for hair loss, is not exhaustive. There are many other ingredients, mostly of natural origin, that claim the ability to block DHT and thus reverse hair loss.

However, no clinical proof exists that any herb contained in the natural remedies promotes new hair growth. Whether you decide to try a commercial herbal remedy or just one or two herbs on their own, keep in mind that, besides there being no guarantee of their effectiveness, no daily dosage has been established and side effects might occur, despite the general belief that herbal hair-loss remedies are safe and free of them.

Will You Go Bald? - Futuristic Test Reveals Answer

It's typical for the average person to lose about 100 hairs from their head every day. What if you could find out if you were going to go bald, before visible hair loss started?

A new D-N-A test is giving those who want it, the power to see what their future holds.

Dr. Alan Bauman, MD is a Board-Certified Hair Restoration Physician in Boca Raton, Florida. He says the new test is a major breakthrough.

"This is exciting because it's the first lab test for hair loss."

And he says it's very simple. It starts with a saliva swab. The sample is then taken back to the lab where the D-N-A is analyzed. Researchers look for a genetic variation on the x-chromosome that's linked to hair loss.

Tom Mastanduono decided to have the test along with his teenage son.

"There's something psychological about having your hair. It's not totally getting old."

It turns out his test results showed he is low risk for hair loss. Low-risk means you have an 80-percent chance of holding onto your hair by age 60. High risk means there's a 60-percent chance of severe hair loss by 40. Tom's 15-year-old son Eric wasn't so lucky with his results.

"I can see here that I'm high risk. It's a bit shocking to find out at such a young age."

100 million Americans have hair loss -- about 60-million are men and 40-million are women. Doctor Bauman says the gene test puts the power of prevention in the patient's hands.

"This just gives another piece of information and then you decide with your doctor what you want to do."

Drugs such as Finasteride and Minoxidil can help slow baldness and promote hair growth.

Doctor bauman says the test -- which is available for men and women -- costs less than two-hundred dollars and should be done through a board-certified hair restoration specialist. The results take two to four weeks.

Tom is low risk, but will keep getting hair preservation therapy. And high-risk Eric won't seek preventive treatment, yet.

"I don't really care, like, right now. It's not of that much importance, because I have a full head of hair and it doesn't really matter that much."

But Eric admits his opinions on his appearance may change in the future.

Homeopathic Techniques for Regrowing Hair

Did you know there are physical exercises that you can do to naturally speed up hair growth? It's true, perform these exercises at your leisure and you'll notice a speed increase in your hair's growth.

1. Rub your fingernails against each other, there are certain nerves connected to your fingernails that generate stimulation to your hairs, and helps them grow faster and thicker.

2. Massage your neck, good hair health is also related to having a comfortable neck. A healthy neck gives ways to give more blood to your scalp, instead of slowing down blood flow, this helps your hair grow as well.

3. Back stretch, grab your arms behind your back, slightly larger than shoulder width apart, then bend down. This exercises helps move blood all over your body. This also benefits you when you're sick, since it promotes natural healing of the body and speeds up blood flow.

4. Sleep without a pillow, studies show that when you sleep without a pillow, you wake up more energized. Your body is also fully horizontal, increasing blood flow and actually increases hair growth and health.

As you can see from these four incredible exercises that fighting baldness isn't always about mixing together certain things to form a hair loss treatment. A lot of times it involves some of the simplest things that many never think of.

Stress is something that can really cause you to lose a lot of hair very fast. Download your free copy of my exclusive FREE report "Real Relationship Between Stress & Hair Loss" below for how to combat this problem with ease.

Hair Transplants - Do You Need to Invest In One?

By now you've heard about hair transplants and all of the hype of how these hair loss treatments can really turn you from looking like Mr. Clean, to a Brad Pitt type hairdo in just a matter of months. Science seems to be really advancing in this area.

Maybe you have wondered about getting this type of hair surgery performed for yourself in order to make those amazing transformations take place. You should really give it some thought and here's why. Hair transplants DO NOT work for everyone.

It's a fact that these work well for some, but fail for the majority. Besides that you have to follow up with your surgeon about every three to six months to maintain your hair growth process. This means more money and more time spent.

It's critical to know too that if you have very little amounts of hair on the sides and back of your scalp, you may be in for a rude awakening. Many find that they just aren't fit for these types of treatments because of this. You see hair is usually taken from the sides and back and used elsewhere on the scalp during this procedure.

By taking a natural step towards fighting hair loss, you may find that you achieve some remarkable benefits that outweigh anything else you've ever tried. Sounds like a fairy tale but it's being done by many people everyday.

While so many so-called "professionals" claim hair loss to be a major cause due to genetics, it's often a result of such things as the various shampoo products you use, how often you shampoo, and even your own diet. Definitely educate yourself before taking those big risks to improve your looks.

Conventional Treatments for Fighting Hair Loss

Male pattern baldness, also called alopecia, is characterized by hair receding from the lateral sides of the forehead, known as a receding hairline; an additional bald patch may develop on top. It's much easier to prevent the falling out of healthy hairs than to regrow hair in follicles that are already dormant. Baldness is simply the state of lacking hair where it usually grows, especially on the head.

Many women notice hair loss about three months after they've had a baby; during pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out and when the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts up again. If the thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, hair may fall out; treating thyroid disease will help remedy this. Poor digestion, parasites and nutrient deficiencies such as iron or biotin deficiency shouldn't be overlooked as possible causes.

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder also known as "spot baldness" that can result in hair loss ranging from just one area to every hair on the entire body. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine or you may find you really don't need the medicine at all. About 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you can suddenly temporarily lose a large amount of hair; this hair loss is related to the stress of the illness.

Hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. In the past it was believed that baldness was inherited from a person's maternal grandfather; while there's some basis for this belief, both parents contribute to their offspring's likelihood of hair loss. Tumors and skin growths can also induce localized baldness.

There are prescription drugs, herbal remedies and topical applications for hair loss. Go a more natural way with treatment if possible; taking hair loss drugs require many months of exposure to chemicals. There are natural home remedies and many recipes for making mixtures to apply topically to the scalp.

Please be aware there are side effects and serious side effects sometimes with the drugs that are commonly used for hair loss. Immunosuppressants applied to the scalp have been shown to temporarily reverse alopecia areata, though the side effects of some of these drugs make this therapy questionable. Stress reduction can be helpful in slowing hair loss.

Minoxidil is a drug that's used daily to prevent hair loss but may create heart problems; the hair it grows is very fine, only on the top of the head and may fall out again soon after the drug is stopped. Minoxidil is a very expensive drug, costing about one hundred dollars per month for daily treatment. Propecia is available with a prescription; comes in pill form, is only for men and may take up to six months before you can tell if it is working.

Onion juice and honey remedy for hair loss: prepare a hair-growing elixir by combining 1/4 cup of onion juice with one tablespoon of honey; massage the scalp with the mixture every day. Massage the scalp nightly with an oil mixture made of one part rosemary oil and two parts almond oil. Asian remedy for hair loss - rub sesame oil on your scalp every night, cover with a cap or old towel; in the morning wash with an herbal shampoo, rinse with a solution of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in one quart of water.

Olive oil and rosemary remedy for hair loss - use equal amounts of olive oil and oil of rosemary; combine them in a bottle, shake vigorously, massage into the scalp, put on a cap and shampoo in the morning. Garlic oil remedy for hair loss - at bedtime, puncture a couple of garlic pearles, squirt the oil on the scalp, massage, cover with a cap, shampoo and rinse in the morning. Try using double-strength herbal sage tea as a hair rinse or apply to scalp every day as a tonic.

Rub vitamin E oil into the scalp nightly. Try scalp massage every day. Polygonum Multiflorum is a traditional Chinese cure for hair loss; whether the plant itself is useful, the general safety and quality control of herbs imported from China can be questionable.

Circulation to the scalp is important. One patient reported that he used coconut oil on his hair and scalp for a year and during that time his hair became thicker and he hade more of it on the top of his head where he had been receding a bit; good as a hair gel too. Apple cider vinegar used as a hair rinse may stimulate hair growth.

Remember that regrowing hair is a slow process, so don't look for results overnight for any remedy or treatment you try. Remember that any drugs you take for hair loss will be a long term commitment; consider the risks to your health before doing this. Keep in mind that hair loss should be continually treated, preferably natural however, even after it stops.

What's The Deal With Biotin & Hair Growth?

People are now taking biotin for hair loss in considerable number as so much as been said about this vitamin, but does it really work and if so how does it work? Well biotin is not really a hair loss treatment in itself but it is essential for healthy hair. The reason that on its own it is not a treatment is because it does not target DHT, testosterone or 5 alpha reductase, which are the key ingredients that make up genetic pattern baldness. But what it does do is help in healthy hair growth, and it also promotes healthy nail and skin growth too.

Biotin works by metabolizing fatty acids which are essential to hair growth, and it is even more potent when combined with B vitamins which metabolize protein and get more oxygen into the blood stream, which again is important for hair growth. In fact if someone is deficient in both biotin (which is vitamin B7) and also the other B vitamins then they may have no eyelashes or eyebrows either.

You can source biotin from various foods including kidney, beef and cheese but the quantities you need to make a difference would mean you eating a lot of these foods so you are better off taking a supplement. There are no known negative side effects of this vitamin, unless that is you are deficient in it then of course you will experience hair loss. If you have male or female pattern baldness then certainly take biotin and B vitamins to encourage healthy hair growth, but in addition to that you should also look at the following to combat the hormones and enzymes that cause balding.

Nettle - This helps to reduce the amount of free testosterone in the blood.

Saw Palmetto - This helps to inhibit 5 alpha reductase which creates DHT

Zinc - This mineral also helps to reduce 5 alpha reductase and is particularly potent when used with B vitamins.

Biotin can help with hair loss but only really if the person is deficient in it in the first place otherwise take it to promote healthy hair skin and nails. However if suffering from genetic hair loss taken with the other vitamins minerals and herbs mentioned biotin could have a positive effect in preventing hair loss.

Link Between Vitamin Deficiency & Hair Loss

Millions and millions of people world wide suffer from partial or complete hair loss. There exist varied reasons of this agonizing problem. So it is very difficult for dermatologists to ascertain exact reason of hair loss.

However if the loss of hair strikes after usage of certain medications, it could be easily adjudged as a side effect of medication. But many a times the underlying reasons for hair loss remain unidentified. And one such hair loss is deficiency related hair loss. Malnutrition or deficiency of nutrients and vitamins often paves the way for hair fall. So you must check your sharp hair fall against these deficiencies.

Hair follicles require certain vitamins to carry on their constant function of regeneration and growth. If follicles remain deprived of these vitamins they won't be able to carry out their normal functioning and may result in hair loss.

Most often due to poor dietary habits or disturbed metabolism folks happen to be deficient with these vitamins. So a change in dietary habits or food intake is necessary to ensure enough intake of necessary vitamins for hair in order to prevent hair loss.

Vitamin A, E and B are of special significance in keeping the healthy hair.

Vitamin A keeps hair moist by helping them to secrete sebum in scalp as per requirement. This sebum keeps hairs away from dryness. This dryness of hair happens to be first step towards hair fall. So there must not be deficiency of this vital vitamin that also happens to be an anti oxidant.

Vitamin E performs the vital function of increasing level of blood circulation towards scalp and also helps follicle cells take enough oxygen. This result in enhanced ability of follicles to regenerate and grow hair. And the deficiency would adversely affect follicular function.

And four different types of vitamin B also cast adverse effect on hair condition if present in less than needed level. Biotin is a complex vitamin B that effectively curbs hair loss and contribute greatly in keeping hairs firm on scalp. Milk and egg yolk are major sources to cover up this deficiency. Para Amino Benzoic Acid is another B complex that is of equal significance for hair nourishment. Vitamin B6 and Inositol are other two B vitamins that are necessary for healthy hair.

If you are facing deficiency of these vitamins you should incorporate food items in your diet to ensure sufficient intake of these vitamins. It would lessen possibility of hair loss.

6 Foods That Made My Hair Grow Fast!

I made this post on my blog to tell you about 6 foods that actually made my hair grow faster. Now you've probably read a few things about faster hair growth. You may have heard that it's impossible to speed up hair growth.

Well now that I gave these 6 foods a test run over a period of three months, I totally disagree with anyone who says this. You can make your hair grow faster. Here's the scoop on these foods.

They are beef, eggs, bacon, salmon, cottage cheese, and brown rice. I'm going to just say that if you're on a diet, don't skimp your diet. Just eat these foods in moderation because they work well for your hair.

Beef, eggs, bacon, and salmon are high in protein and allow the hair to grow thicker. I'm willing to assume that this is what transformed some of my thin hairs to thicker hairs.

Cottage cheese is high in calcium, which will also allow your hair to become much stronger than it is. Brown rice is high in carbs (the good, healthy carbs that is).

Much success to you,

Christopher

Blow Drying Your Hair Away??

Do you blow dry your hair . . .

or do you allow it to dry naturally? It's quite something to think about. Many people don't but you should because it can affect the health of your hair.

Most blow dryers come with various settings where you can raise and lower the temperature. But this isn't an excuse. You should AVOID drying your hair this way.

It leads to breakage of your hair as well as split ends. Now that you know this, you need an effective way of drying your hair in order to prevent losing it right?

Here's your answer . . .

Towel dry using a patting and dabbing technique. Never rub your head when towel drying. It upsets your hair's roots.

Yes a blow dryer is a convenient commodity. But what do you prefer . . .

Longer drying time and more hair. Or faster drying time and less hair. Just something to think about.

Sometimes more hair growth is just a matter of getting into the habit of doing things differently. And it doesn't have to take much of your time just like the blow drying tip that you just read about. Most of us don't have a lot of time, yet we must do what we can to regrow our hair.

Hair Thickening Trick For Increased Hair Density

I wanted to take the time to tell you about a trick I discovered that can give your hair more body and fullness. If you've been tackling thin hair for a while and definitely want a coverup while you work to increase hair density, this is for you.

You may or may not have heard of this as it's not really known to many. You're going to need one simple household ingredient and that is going to be baking soda. Take about 8 tablespoonsful of it and simply add it to your current bottle of shampoo.

Shake your shampoo bottle up to evenly mix this into it, then shampoo your hair like you normally do. You'll be quite surprised like myself when you see how it works to actively thicken your hair.

This is only one simple trick you can use to increase the density of your hair. There are plenty more found right inside a recipe that has helped many overcome baldness. Read about it here.

Natural Remedy Can Reverse Gray Hair?

There is no scientific evidence that any diet, herb, supplement, or product can reduce or reverse gray hair, however, there are some underlying conditions that may result in premature gray and some ancient approaches you might be interested in.

It might help to first understand why we get gray hair. Hair color is produced by tiny hair pigment cells within our hair follicles called melanocytes. As we age, the activity of these melanocytes gradually declines until they stop making pigment. New hairs grown in without pigment, resulting in gray hair.

Each one of us has a genetically determined time when we will get gray hair. Although nothing can stop hair from turning gray, there are some conditions that can cause hair to gray earlier or more quickly than normal.

•Thyroid disorders. Conditions such as Grave's disease, Hashimoto's disease, hyperthyroidism, and hypothyroidism have been linked with premature gray hair.

•Vitamin B12 deficiency anemia. It can be due to a diet low in vitamin B12, which is found mainly in meat, eggs, and milk. It can also occur if the stomach can't absorb vitamin B12, due to surgery involving the stomach or small intestine (such as gastric bypass surgery), diseases that affect the small intestine, such as Crohn's disease, celiac disease, fish tapeworms, or small intestine bacterial overgrowth, or a lack of protein called intrinsic factor due to an autoimmune reaction or a genetic defect.

•Vitiligo. A condition in which your skin loses melanocytes, resulting in very light patches of skin and possibly premature gray hair.

•Early menopause

•Smoking. Cigarette smoking has been linked to premature gray hair.
Addressing these underlying conditions, in some cases, may help to prevent hair from going premature gray.

In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, premature gray hair reflects an underlying disturbance.

Hair, according to TCM, reflects the quality of blood and the strength of the kidneys. The kidneys and blood have a broader role in TCM than they do in Western physiology.

Foods that are thought to strengthen the blood and kidneys are:
•Hijiki seaweed

•Blackstrap molasses

•Black sesame seeds

•Nettles

•Wheat grass

•Chlorophyll
Keep in mind though that consuming excessive amounts of these foods is not recommended. For example, excessive amounts of iodine (from seaweed) may increase the risk of developing thyroid problems, which itself is a cause of premature gray hair.

Foods to avoid, according to TCM, are excessive meat, dairy, and salt

Many commercial products that claim to restore hair's natural color contain herbs that are used in TCM to strengthen the kidneys and blood. The most popular is a herb called He Shou Wu, also called Polygonum multiflorum or Fo-Ti.

The name He Shou Wu means "black-haired Mr. He" in Chinese. This name refers to a legend of an older villager named Mr. He who took this herb and restored his black hair, youthful appearance and vitality.

He Shou Wu isn't right for everyone with grey hair, say TCM practitioners, which is why a consultation is recommended. If used improperly, it is thought to lead to emotional ailments such as anger or depression. For more information about He Shou Wu, read the He Shou Wu / Fo-Ti Fact Sheet.

In ayurveda, hair is associated with an imbalance in the pitta constitutional type. An imbalance in the vata constitutional type, aggravated by stress, is also associated with premature greying.

Olive Oil Recipe For Preserving Hair

After a long winter’s exposure to dry indoor heat, our hair needs some nourishing relief! Here’s the simple solution. This easy hair treatment will result in healthier, more manageable hair and a really clean, invigorated scalp. Olive oil nourishes, conditions, and improves the strength and elasticity of your hair, while the couldn’t-be-easier process is both stress-reducing and health-promoting.

Here’s how.

INGREDIENTS (enough for 1 or 2 treatments, depending on the length and thickness of your hair)

½ cup olive oil
5 drops frankincense essential oil (others may be substituted, if you wish)
1 plastic bag that can fit over your hair

1. Pour olive oil into a jar with a lid, then add essential oil. Put lid on jar and shake well to disperse the essential oil. Let sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place. Shake again before use.

2. Rinse hair with warm water. Warm 1 tablespoon of oil treatment in the palms of your hands. Using your fingertips (not nails), gently massage the oil into the scalp in a circular motion. Repeat until the entire scalp has been massaged. Rub the ends of your hair with the remaining oil.

3. Place a plastic bag over your hair, secure by tying or with a hair clip or clothespin, and allow the oil to remain for at least a half-hour.

4. Rinse well, then shampoo as usual.

5 Actions Plans For More Hair Now

Regardless of if you are a man who is losing his hair or a woman who's hair is thinning, chances are you want to find thinning hair remedies that work.

You do not need to spend thousands of dollars. You just need a few things to stop losing hair. You need to know what to take, what to avoid and what products work. It's that simple.

Like anything else though, without a plan and or a solution you will get frustrated and jump from product to product. Here is the plan.

1. If you bleach your hair or dye it stop now. It can and does cause much damage. Especially if it is done by inexperienced staff in a hair salon.

2. Use a shampoo that is not harsh and does not contain ingredients that will damage your scalp. Can you imagine using a shampoo that is washing your hair away? How do you find the right shampoo. Find one that is meant for hair loss.

3. Reduce stress as this a big cause of hair loss in men and women. Stress induced hair loss is reversible just by cutting out stress and is an important part of the equation for any thinning hair remedies. Imagine how you would feel, spending thousands of dollars on treatment, only to find your hair loss was stress induced and you could have stopped it dead in its tracks.

4. Smoking causes hair loss. This is a fact. It restricts blood flow everywhere, including your scalp and follicles and causes premature hair loss. It's the only form of hair loss I know of where people are paying to lose their hair. Do you want to gamble with your hair by playing Russian roulette with your follicles?

5. If you are not on a healthy diet change now. Hair is 95% Protein. By eating a bad diet your starving your hair of the food it needs to grow. Picture yourself spending money on hair loss remedies only to undo it all by not feeding your hair.

Reasons Many Fail At Fighting Hair Loss (Part 2)

In part one of this article, we discussed how a lot of hair loss sufferers lose the fight against baldness because they lack knowing exactly what's causing their hair to fall out. Well there are actually several factors behind hair fall.

Let's look at a few of them so that you can make better decisions on how to go about getting rid of your thinning hair problem. First you should know that such forms of alopecia such as receding hairlines are tied down to a lack of blood circulation.

If you lack blood flow in the scalp, then your hair follicles are going to starve to death. So the more blood you get flowing to your roots, the better off you're going to be. In my opinion there's no better way to ensure that this happens than by scalp massage.

It's an ancient way of doing things, but when used properly this exercise is a powerful way to curb baldness fast. Instead of using your bare hands make use of oils like rosemary and henna. When massaged into your scalp pores they trigger tremendous amounts of circulation.

This is what's going to feed your follicles all of those nutrients that they need in order to grow. Now other than a lack of blood circulation, you should be very wary of the types of hair products you use. We're talking about sprays, shampoos, mousse, and other forms of gels.

A lot of these contain chemical additives that are there to give your hair body and fullness, but on the backend they strip your hair out over time. Aim for the use of natural products for your hair, such as those containing aloe vera, herbs like green tea, or even tea tree oil.

Reasons Many Fail At Fighting Hair Loss (Part 1)

If I had a dollar for every person who has used some kind of commercial hair loss product and failed, I would be a very rich individual. So many people start to lose their hair and quickly grab whatever they believe is going to work for them.

This is the problem with a lot of hair loss sufferers. They jump right into trying to fix their hair problem before actually educating themselves on what their cause might be. I can tell you right now that everything you've probably heard about genetics and hair loss is probably not totally true.

Now of course genetics can play a certain role in whether you are one who loses hair or not. But it's not just because a close relative or someone in your immediate family went bald. It goes deeper than that.

There's a hormone called DHT that binds to your follicles and causes your hair to become very thin. Eventually if you don't take care of the situation, your entire head will soon become bald. It's a very scary thought, but it's true.

Now where genetics comes in is that everyone is genetically predetermined to have some amount of DHT that their bodies produce. Even those with hair have DHT present in their bodies, just not as much as those who are losing their hair.

While certain products like minoxidil and finasteride have been designed to help fight hair loss and DHT, they don't work for everyone. So for that reason you're going to have to take a different approach. For men they can take saw palmetto extract as a way to inhibit DHT.

Women shouldn't take this herb and it's best that they stick with something like green tea capsules. Since green tea contains compounds called catechins, they work to block DHT and further promote hair growth.

Wow I was completely blown away by the response I got from all of my various readers when it came to the post I recently made titled Shampooing Everyday - Totally Not Needed! If you haven't read this post, you can read it here.

I found your comments to be very intriguing to say the least. Many of you are really making fine progress either way it goes. Some of you are shampooing each day and others once or twice a week.

Guess it really doesn't matter how often you shampoo your hair. It depends mostly on what you use. A lot of my readers have found things that are SLS free and clear of chemical additives to be a real benefit for regrowing their hair.

Herbal shampoos are also quite popular so you should definitely give them a try. Brands like Nisim work extremely well and contain not just herbs, but amino acids, building blocks of protein for your hair that is totally essential.

Shampooing Every Day - Totally Not Needed!

Okay everyone has to shampoo their hair right? I mean at least they should because it's just good ole personal hygiene in order to keep the hair and scalp clean. But there are a lot of people taking this to the extreme.

Most of them are hair loss sufferers and they don't even suffer from OCD (excuse the pun). This is totally not needed and is actually dangerous to the growth of your hair.

I'm going to reveal to you why in just a second, but first why do so many people believe shampooing the hair all the time will make it grow back faster?

One thing I've observed is that a lot of folks do this because they've heard how clogged follicles can contribute to a loss of their hair. Others feel like just having a clean scalp is the key to more hair.

Well . . . . clogged follicles can contribute to hair loss when left untreated over time. But your hair needs certain natural oils in it in order to grow properly. You just can't do this every single day.

One great way to shampoo your hair effectively so as to make sure it grows back to its maximum potential is to do this every other day. Perhaps three days out of the week.

If you tend to have oily scalp and feel that more is needed, here's a quick concoction that's natural to help you rid of the oils.

Take a quart of water and mix it with the juice from four lemons. The acidic level of this mixture when applied as a rinse to the scalp will work to safely eliminate any buildup.

Herbal Shampoo Vs. The "Other Stuff"

I'm going to first off tell you that you should definitely go for using herbal shampoo rather than all of the other commercial shampoo products. I have many reasons but I'm gonna keep this one nice and sweet.

You see there are so many additives and chemicals in a lot of shampoo products it's ridiculous. You may know of one called Sodium Laureth Sulphate. It's a de-greasing chemical agent that's placed in the shampoo to help wash away the dirt and oils from your hair and scalp. At the same time it causes your hair to thin out over time.

Well one reason why you should go with herbal shampoos is certainly because you won't have to deal with the harmful chemicals. On top of that most of them contain great proteins that really work well to give your hair that extra boost it needs to grow.

One of them is Nisim herbal shampoo. It contains 3 amino acids that give the hair strength and body. After all you must not forget that the hair is made up of protein. So it makes since to provide it with this essential nutrient.

Top Nutritional Tips For Hair Growth

1. Eat adequate amounts of protein.

Protein is composed of the amino acids essential for the building of new cells, including hair. Five amino acids are of particular relevance to hair growth - cystine, cysteine, methionine, arginine and lysine.

Inadequate protein intake over a lengthy period can force hair into the resting phase with shedding a few months later. It is obvious then that sufficient portions of protein rich foods should form part of your daily diet. The best sources of dietary protein are lean meats, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, soy, nuts, grains and seeds. At least 15% of your daily calories should come from protein-rich foods.

2. Eat adequate amounts of useful carbohydrates.

Carbs are an essential source of energy and help in the growth of body tissues, including hair. They are an important source of the B vitamins that are vital to healthy hair.

It is important that you concentrate on consuming non-refined carbs rather than the sugars and white flour that are so prevalent in many over-refined carb products. You should place an emphasis on consuming vegetables, fruits, whole grains, brown rice and potatoes. It is recommended that you obtain 55-60% of your daily calories from the carbohydrates found in these foods.

3. Achieve a healthy balance of dietary fats.

Fat is used in energy production and can be found in both animal and plant foods. Your body needs sufficient levels of fat to maintain good health. That fat should be obtained from a mixture of lean animal and plant sources. Roughly 25-30% of your daily calories should come from these sources.

4. The right nutritional balance is one that suits your personal circumstances.

How much of each food group you eat depends on a host of factors including age, sex, health and level of physical activity. When choosing meals and snacks, take account of the following key principles of sound nutrition:

- Eat a variety of foods.

- Apply moderation to your consumption of junk foods.

- Choose natural and lightly processed foods as often as possible.

- Do not over cook.

5. Support a nutritious diet with a few carefully chosen supplements.

Following a nutritious diet is essential for good hair health, but on its own this may not be sufficient for a number of reasons:

- Modern farming methods may deplete the nutrient quality of food.

- High stress levels may diminish nutrients in your body.

- Dieting may affect nutrient levels.

- Aging reduces the ability of our bodies to utilize certain nutrients.

- Exercise can deplete some nutrients.

It may be sufficient to supplement with a well-balanced multi-vitamin / mineral product but a number of products are available that specifically cater for the requirements of healthy hair.

Herbal Treatment For Faster Hair Growth

Hair growth patterns in humans depend upon the interaction of natural cycles of hair growth and hair loss. The hair growth cycles follow a structured process that has 3 phases. These 3 phases are – anagen (the growth phase), catagen (the transitional phase) and telogen (The resting Phase).

The hair is actively growing only in the anagen phase where it increases in length by about 1 cm in every 28 days. Hair loss occurs when the hair is in the resting phase. Most hairs in the resting phase lie in the skin separated from the dermal papilla at its base. Since the hair is not held tightly at its root, it is prone to shedding at any point.

The entire hair growth cycle is under the influence of hormones and their metabolic products. Dihydrotestosterone is the most important metabolite that plays the major role in retarding the hair growth and affecting hair loss. Accumulation of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) within the hair follicle is considered to be the main cause of hair loss.

The DHT mediates the hair loss through its direct action on the androgenic receptors in human scalp tissue. It interrupts the normal physiologic environment and function of the hair follicles. Faster hair growth in both men and women is possible if action of DHT is blocked.

The organic extracts of some of the herbal formulations act at the level of the androgenic receptors of the scalp. These extracts contain substances which directly compete with DHT with its action. They act as a natural androgenic blocker by inhibiting the active binding of DHT to the hair follicle receptors. When this binding is inhibited the amount of follicle damage is automatically reverted and follicles respond by affecting quick hair growth.

There are many natural herbs which have known to act as DHT antagonists. The use of herbs and herbal products has become broadly accepted in the contemporary culture for their unique potential to induce rapid hair growth.

Women have increased hair loss after the menopause. That is also because of increased production of DHT. Herbal supplements and herbal formulas used in hair growth products induce a quick hair growth in women.

The herbal hair growth supplements have found widespread acceptance as remedies for inducing faster hair growth. There are many good reasons to consider herbal hair growth supplements as the best form of treatment for hair related problems. The best reason may be the fact that herbs and herbal products have shown to provide quick hair growth benefits while maintaining a remarkable safety profile.

Equal parts of wild yam root, licorice, motherwort, black cohosh, chamomile, valerian root and skullcap can be taken as safe herbal supplements for hair loss due to loss of estrogen production. Estrogen is known to offer protection over the deleterious affects of DHT. All these herbs are known to simulate estrogen in women to result in rapid hair growth.

Dong Quai with other herbs if taken as herbal tea can serve as a special medication for faster hair growth in females. The medication is quite effective for maintaining the hair growth potential by regulating female hormone and hair growth cycles in pre-menstrual women.
